The JB Custom Power Rods
Carolina Rig, Texas Rig, and Jig rods are classified as our power rods. These three JB rod designs are the most sensitive rods in the bass fishing industry. We carefully machine fit a wooden reel seat directly onto each individual blank, one rod at a time. By placing a resin impregnated hardwood reel seat in direct contact with a high modulus graphite rod blank, the slightest vibrations are transmitted directly to your hand without any signal loss. Our custom manufacturing process is too involved and time consuming for mass production facilities, who fit graphite reel seats onto blanks using filler materials such as paper, cardboard and masking tape. These materials muffle vibrations before they can be felt by your hand. We build most of these rods without a fore grip allowing the angler to hold the bare blank in their hand.
